THE CHALLENGE
I gave myself a challenge in 2023: To become a strong voice of DATA for the media publishing industry. I set my mind that I was going to have answers to the hardest and most critical data questions in the realm of MEDIA + DATA + REVENUE.
Not by knowing everything. But by knowing all the people who know all the things. I invested hundreds of hours last year in conversation with the greatest minds in Media + Data, each in his or her own special niche.
Earlier this month, I brought them all together as the “Media Data Collaborative.” Check out this video, and get to know the people in the media space who are paving the way for the future of data. These are the people who obsess about strategies for increasing engagement and revenue through data.
COLLABORATION VERSUS ISOLATION
The longer I sit in the seat of a small business owner, the more I realize something:
I don’t want to know everything.
I don’t want to be everything.
Quite the opposite. I want to be the best at very few things, and I want to partner with people who are the best at everything else. I am building the DATA DREAM TEAM so that you don’t have to!
If you have questions about data revenue, engagement, new data products, ways to bridge data silos, data platforms and data technology, or any questions around first party data, I feel confident I either know the answer, or know the person who knows the answer, or in the worst case scenario, I know a person who knows a person who knows the answer. And I’m not just talking about answers, I’m talking about execution. The shortest distance between idea and execution is an expert who can DO THAT THING like clockwork.
