People of Media: David LaFontaine & Jacob Fogg | Fear & SEO | Advent of GEO
Check this out if you are a publisher who is uncomfortable, scared, or or feel under-informed about the effectiveness of your SEO strategy.
A Match Made in Heaven
Here’s an encouraging and stimulating interview with two members of the Media Data Collaborative, David LaFontaine and Jacob Fogg, exploring their partnership to create an affordable and effective way for media publishers who want to vastly improve their SEO (and GEO) strategy and technology.
I have so much respect for both of these guys — it’s a match made in heaven.
Background
In their intimate relationships with publishers, they both kept running into the same problem — publishers purchasing the services of SEO agencies, paying substantial sums, and getting a list of recommendations and no help with implementation, leading to an utter waste of money.
Jake shares an example of encountering a situation like this and being asked to help. He was able to offer immediate insights and execution help leading to immediate low hanging fruit and substantial results far exceeding the results of previous vendors who had charged large sums.
The Question
After meeting via the MDC, and finding a common passion, their common experiences led them to ask the questions:
Why do publishers overpay for SEO services that end up being ineffective?
Could we offer something better?
Turns out they can.
Action!
