AI Policy

This is to be transparent in how I use AI in the production and refinement of content. I use AI to help me accelerate the process of bringing clear ideas to my audiences. I also use it to take on more administrative work to free me up to more relational and connection work.

Who Am I?

I am a connector / dreamer, with a mission to gather people together around certain topics, like the topic of this newsletter. Generally, my goal is to call people upward into their true identity, with appreciation for their incredible and unique design, and to highlight excellence in the industry.

What Is AI To Me?

AI is an incredible technology that helps me focus more and more on the purest aspects of my calling because it assists me with administration and fine tuning that are the furthest away from the sweet spot of my gift. I have an appreciation for AI as well as a healthy understanding of how it can go wrong — if I outsource parts of my essential journey to a robot, thus stunting my own growth and development.

Ways I Use AI

There are a few ways that I typically use AI:

  1. Interview Summaries. My interview summaries are primarily AI content derived from a custom GPT I have created. I have fine tuned this GPT to pull relevant content from the interview transcript in order to give people a quick summary of key points with calls to action.

  2. Article Edit & Structuring. Sometimes I have a big idea in mind, but I don’t have the time to tease this down into a structured format (this is the part that takes the most time for me). In this case, I will sometimes dictate my idea into chatGPT, asking it to keep a a lot of my verbatim wording, but then crafting those raw ideas into a structured article, which I then review, tweak, and publish.

  3. Thought Distillation. Sometimes I go back and forth with AI about an idea or a series of ideas, in order to gain the clarity to articulate those ideas better.

What Is My Ethic?

For now, my ethic is this: I don’t use AI to create, I use it to refine. I don’t use it to replace me, I use it to help me. My creativity, connection, originality are important to me, and I don’t need help from AI to be who I am, or to know and live my calling. It is a tool that helps me become more efficient, produce more content in less time, while maintaining a high standard, so I can do more of the things (authentic ideation, deep conversations, interviews, high level connections, tending the Slack channel, seeing and loving more humans), that are within my calling, that AI cannot do.
